Deli Attendant/Barista
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Deli Attendant/Barista. In this role, you will prepare and serve a variety of deli meats, cheeses, salads, sandwiches, and espresso drinks. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, barista and guest service, with a keen attention to detail and a passion for creating exceptional culinary experiences.
This is a seasonal position from Mid December to the end of April. Dates are subject to change based on the availability of snow and the needs of the business.
- Prepare and assemble a wide range of deli items, including sandwiches, wraps, salads, and sides according to established recipes and customer preferences.
- Portion, and package deli meats and cheeses to ensure freshness and quality.
- Assist customers in selecting deli items and provide recommendations based on their preferences and dietary needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli and market, including regular sanitization of equipment, utensils, and serving areas.
- Make a variety of coffee/espresso drinks.
- Monitor inventory levels of deli and market products and replenish supplies as needed to meet customer demand.
- Operate deli equipment such as turbo chef ovens, espresso machines and steamers safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards at all times to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Provide friendly and attentive customer service, addressing inquiries, and resolving any issues or concerns promptly.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and efficient workflow during peak hours.
- Participate in training sessions and ongoing development opportunities to enhance culinary skills and product knowledge.
- Previous experience in a deli, barista stand, restaurant, or food service environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of deli products, ingredients, and food preparation techniques.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage and interact with customers in a positive manner.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and calculating order totals.
- Flexibility to work morning and afternoon shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Food handler's certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Fast‑paced and dynamic atmosphere with frequent customer interactions.
- Temperature variations in the kitchen and deli area.
- Standing for extended periods and frequent movement around the kitchen and serving areas.
- Handling and lifting of supplies, equipment, and food items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure to sharp utensils and hot surfaces; adherence to safety protocols is essential.
