In this role, you’ll serve as a bridge between the court, participants of the City’s Problem‑Solving Court program, and service providers. Your responsibilities will include guiding participants through program requirements—such as attending court appearances, treatment sessions, and housing appointments—and helping participants access necessary resources. You’ll also facilitate Restorative Justice Processes for eligible clients, promoting healing, accountability, and meaningful connections within the community.

Additionally, you’ll assist in securing and maintaining grant funding to support the success of the Problem‑Solving Court program.

This is a temporary, grant‑funded position with a part‑time schedule of 20 hours per week at $31.25 per hour.

What You’ll Do in This Role:
Program Operations:
  • Serve as the primary contact for Specialty Court participants, helping them transition into the program, stay engaged, and comply with service plans that include treatment, housing, and court appearances.
  • Collaborate with local mental health, housing, and community organizations to ensure participants receive the services they need.
  • Track participant progress and provide updates to the court during monthly sessions.
  • Assist participants in overcoming barriers such as transportation or access to resources, ensuring they meet all program requirements.
  • Maintain the confidentiality and trust of participant information through comprehensive collaborative documentation between program partners.
  • Identify participants eligible for Restorative Justice programs and coordinate the restorative process with victims, community members, and the participants.
  • Assist in funding and maintaining grant funding for the Problem Solving Court.
Resource Coordination and Advocacy:
  • Advocate on behalf of participants to help them access mental health services, substance abuse treatment, housing assistance, and other resources.
  • Collaborate with service providers like Axis Health Systems, Housing Solutions of the Southwest, and community organizations such as Manna Soup Kitchen and Community Compassion Outreach.
  • Maintain relationships with these service providers to track participant compliance and progress in meeting program goals.
Restorative Justice Coordination:
  • Facilitate Restorative Justice (RJ) processes, including organizing RJ circles and conferences.
  • Coordinate communication between victims, offenders, and community members to ensure all parties are engaged in the process and agree on outcomes.
  • Develop and oversee RJ action plans, which may include apologies, restitution, community service, or other forms of accountability.
  • Monitor and report progress in fulfilling RJ agreements and ensure participants meet all requirements of the RJ process.
Transportation Assistance:
  • Coordinate transportation for participants to attend court, treatment, and other appointments.
  • Manage transportation resources, including bus passes or rideshare services, ensuring participants have access to attend all required appointments.
Program Administration:
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of participant engagement, compliance, and progress throughout the program.
  • Provide administrative oversight of restorative justice processes, including scheduling, communicating with participants, and managing documentation.
  • Participate in regular team meetings with the court, treatment providers, defense attorneys, and prosecutors to review participant progress and update service plans as needed.
  • Assist administration in maintaining and sustaining program funding, seeking out local, state and national grants that support the program mission and vision.
Training and Community Outreach:
  • Outreach to community partners and service resources of ongoing Problem‑Solving court efforts and potential collaboration.
  • Educate participants, community members, and stakeholders on Restorative Justice principles and practices.
