Nifty Nanny Camp Coach Application Packet

Summer Camp 2023

June 5 - August 18

A total of 8 coaches will be selected. All who apply will be notified of their selection status by May 1st, 2023.

Training begins Tuesday, May 30th at 9 am for selected coaches. More information will be provided to those selected.

• Complete the application neatly and thoroughly.
• Include the following documents in your application:
  • One letter of recommendation from an unrelated adult.
  • A current photo of yourself.
  • A resume (not required, but strongly preferred).
  • Copies of any special certifications you currently hold (first aid, CPR, water safety, lifeguard training, etc.).
• Submit all required documents by Tuesday, April 11th, 2023.

Head Coach must be at least 18 years old, have prior camp experience, and be able to pass a comprehensive background check. Head Coaches provide extra support to other coaches and staff and assist with camp operations as needed.

Assistant Coach must be at least 16 years old (or have previously attended a Nifty Nanny Summer Camp).

All coaches must be physically able to walk or ride a bike with a backpack on, and be actively engaged and mobile during all camp activities to ensure camper safety.

• Knowledge of basic bike mechanics or willingness to learn.
• Plan and pack for daily bike or hiking field trips.
• Lead daily bike or hike field trips.
• Plan, prepare and implement outdoor games/activities.
• Administer first aid/CPR when needed.
• Work effectively with fellow staff.
• Communicate with parents.
• Complete midday sunscreen applications.
• Follow field trip assignments and improvise as needed.
• Make decisions on behalf of the group's safety for weather conditions, environmental concerns or behavior incidents.

• Commit 5 or more weeks during the Summer Camp.
• Full schedule:
  May 30 – August 18, Monday – Friday, 8:45 am – 2:15 pm.
• No camp session during the week of July 3 – 7 — 2023.

• Biking Camp 5‑7 yrs : 8 campers + 2 coaches
• Biking Camp 8‑10 yrs : 8 campers + 2 coaches
• Hiking Camp 5‑7 yrs : 8 campers + 2 coaches
• Hiking Camp 8‑10 yrs : 8 campers + 2 coaches
