We have amazing opportunities for a Payroll Risk and Control Lead to be based in Umhlanga. Do you think you have what it takes to be our newest Purple Star?

This role will be responsible for the review and preparation of accurate payroll risk areas, reconciliations and related reporting and analytics whilst maintaining strict confidentiality standards.

You bring:

• Matric
• 5 years accounting / payroll related position experience

A Bonus to have:

• BCom degree / studying towards BCom.
• Managerial/supervisory experience.

What You’ll Do For The Brand:

• Control, review and reconciliation of the complete process relating to staff debtors, including T-Shirts and write-offs.
• Performing a detailed review of reconciliations and related reports prepared by the Payroll Team, including, but not limited to, the following:
• Salary control account recons
  • AOD recons, including the monthly PBA AOL report
  • Staff debtor recons and write-offs
  • Unclaimed wages and terminations not paid listings
  • Subsistence recons
• Payroll component related configuration reviews, including, but not limited to the following:
• oTax codes checks
  oBCEA Leave set up checks
  oCOIDA set up checks
  oEE set up checks
• Review of risk areas and controls within the department processes. This may include areas such as statutory and internal policy compliance.
• Detailed documentation and reporting of all queries, identified gaps, risk areas and discrepancies for continuous improvement purposes for submission to the Payroll Project and Procedures Specialist.
• Work with the Payroll Operations and Procedures Team Lead to ensure controls are fully documented on the walkthrough and SOP documents.
• Work closely with the Finance department to research and resolve problems, perform scheduled activities, prepare and maintain accurate records.
• Provide support to line managers and the finance department with payroll reconciliation related concerns and queries.
• Undertakes related project work and ad hoc, variance and analysis reporting as required.
• Keep abreast of changes within Payroll department.
• Confidentiality of all Payroll information is to be maintained at all times.

• Performs other and related duties and general admin as required.
