Senior Tax Consultant / Accountant
Job SummaryWe are seeking a Senior Tax Consultant / Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide tax planning, compliance, and advisory services to clients. He/she will be responsible for preparing and analysing financial statements and tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations. They will work closely with internal teams, and external stakeholders to optimise tax strategies and minimise tax liabilities.
The ideal candidate must have 3 - 5 years experience in an accounting firm.
- Manage full accounting and tax function portfolio.
- Produce monthly management reports.
- Full accounting function to trial balance.
- Drafting of annual financial statements for companies, trusts, and sole proprietors on Case Ware.
- Provide advice on all tax and accounting matters.
- Must have experience on e‑filing.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Prepare and submit income tax returns for individuals and companies, VAT returns for sole proprietors, companies and trusts.
- Prepare VAT returns for sole proprietors, companies, and trusts.
- Competent to attend to all SARS correspondence.
- Filing of notices of objections, and suspension of debt on e‑filing.
- Conduct themselves in a professional manner.
- Must be willing to travel to clients.
- Accounting Degree or Higher Diploma. This is non-negotiable.
- Completed Articles.
- Affiliations to SAICA, SAIPA, ACC, CIMA and SAIBA are preferred.
- Working Pastel Experience and knowledge.
- Knowledge on Case Ware and Pastel is imperative.
- At least 3 - 5 years experience in an accounting environment.
- Own Vehicle.
- Valid drivers license (non-negotiable).

Key Responsibilities- Manage the full accounting and tax function for an allocated portfolio of clients.
- Perform the full accounting function through to trial balance.

- Provide professional advice on accounting and tax-related matters.

- Attend to suspension of debt applications on eFiling.
- Ensure clients remain compliant with applicable tax laws and regulations.

- Communicate professionally with clients and external stakeholders.
- Provide accurate and timely advice on accounting and tax matters.
- Build and maintain strong professional client relationships.
- Travel to clients when required.
- Conduct all client interactions in a professional and service-focused manner.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.
- Ensure all work is completed accurately and within required deadlines.
- Manage multiple client portfolios and priorities effectively.
- Work under pressure while maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
