Our client, a well-established professional accounting firm in Durban, is seeking an experienced Accounting Team Leader to join their Private Business Services division. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accounting professional who enjoys leading teams, managing workflow, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of junior accounting staff.
- Prepare and draft Annual Financial Statements using Draftworx.
- Review bookkeeping, VAT, PAYE, reconciliations, and management accounts.
- Ensure all financial records are reconciled, accurate, and review-ready.
- Monitor team performance, workflow, and monthly deadlines.
- Support compliance with IFRS for SMEs and accounting best practices.
- Minimum 3 years' experience within an accounting firm.
- Proven experience preparing AFS and management accounts.
- Strong Draftworx experience.
- Knowledge of Xero and/or Sage.
- Solid understanding of IFRS for SMEs, VAT, and PAYE.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Permanent position in Durban.
