Accountant, Financial Reporting, Tax Accountant

Are you nearing the completion of your accounting articles and ready to take the next step in your professional accounting career? We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented accounting professional to join a well-established accounting environment in Durban.

This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who is finishing up their articles and is looking to build on their practical accounting experience while developing their career within a professional accounting firm.

• Assisting with the preparation of annual financial statements
• Performing accounting and financial reporting duties for a portfolio of clients
• Completing reconciliations and ensuring accurate financial records
• Assisting with tax and compliance-related matters
• Performing analytical reviews and investigating variances
• Assisting with audit and assurance-related assignments where required
• Preparing working papers and maintaining accurate supporting documentation
• Liaising with clients regarding accounting and financial matters
• Providing general accounting support to senior team members
• Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations

• Currently completing or nearing completion of SAIPA Articles
• Relevant Accounting Degree or equivalent qualification
• Previous experience within an accounting or auditing firm
• Strong accounting and financial reporting knowledge
• Experience with the preparation of financial statements
• Tax and compliance knowledge advantageous
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
