Audit Senior

An established accounting firm based in Kloof, Durban, is seeking a skilled and motivated Audit Senior to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced audit professional who is looking to further develop their career in a professional environment, take ownership of audit engagements and work closely with clients and junior team members.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical auditing knowledge, excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple engagements while maintaining high-quality standards.

• Relevant accounting or auditing qualification.
• Completed SAICA articles.
• Previous experience in an auditing practice.
• Strong knowledge of auditing standards and relevant legislation.
• Experience with audit software and accounting systems.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
• Experience supervising and reviewing the work of junior team members.
• High attention to detail and a strong sense of accountability.

• Plan, execute and finalise audit engagements in accordance with applicable auditing standards.
• Manage multiple audit assignments and ensure deadlines are met.
• Prepare and review audit working papers and supporting documentation.
• Identify audit risks, assess internal controls and ensure appropriate audit procedures are performed.
• Review the work of junior staff and provide guidance, support and training where required.
• Communicate with clients to obtain information, resolve audit queries and discuss findings.
• Identify and report audit findings and recommend improvements where necessary.
