Role Description

The Administrative Assistant is a contracted, on-site role based in Durban. This position provides daily administrative support, coordinating event-related logistics, and maintaining electronic and physical records. The role involves handling phone calls and emails, preparing documents, reports, and presentations, and assisting with data entry and basic accounting or invoicing tasks as needed. The Administrative Assistant supports event teams by organizing office supplies, updating databases, and ensuring that information is accurate and accessible.

This role also includes contributing to a well-organized, professional office environment.

Qualifications
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with office software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, email, and calendar tools) and basic data entry skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with a professional telephone and email manner.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation, record keeping, and information management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with event teams and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in administrative support, office coordination, or a similar role; exposure to event management is an advantage.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary coursework or certification in administration or office management is beneficial.
