Senior Project Manager - Construction & Development

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to oversee high-value construction and development projects in the vibrant city of Durban . You will be instrumental in managing all phases of the construction lifecycle, from initial design and planning through to execution and handover. This role requires a leader with a deep understanding of construction methodologies, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder management within the building industry.

The successful candidate will ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, contributing significantly to the region's development landscape.

• Manage all aspects of construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and contract administration.
• Ensure strict adherence to building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate effectively with architects, engineers, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
• Oversee site operations, monitoring progress, resolving on-site issues, and ensuring project milestones are met.
• Manage project documentation, including change orders, progress reports, and final close-out documentation.
• Conduct regular site inspections and project reviews to maintain quality control and identify potential risks.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in construction project management, with a proven history of successfully delivering complex projects.
• In-depth knowledge of construction processes, building materials, site management, and relevant South African building regulations.
• Experience in managing project budgets exceeding R50 million and controlling costs effectively.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Professional qualifications such as PMP, or a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Ability to work effectively on-site and manage teams in a demanding environment.
