Senior Patternmaker

Pinetown. An exciting opportunity exists for a competent and experienced Senior Patternmaker to join an established business within the clothing industry. We are looking for a technically skilled individual with 35 years of relevant experience who is confident in managing the full pattern making process and leading the department to ensure consistent quality and fit.

• Completing master production patterns for a variety of size ranges and design silhouettes
• Creating basic blocks for all fabric types in various silhouettes
• Developing accurate patterns from design sketches using computer software (via manipulation of blocks or adjustment of existing patterns)
• Ensuring all patterns adhere to size construction and quality standards
• Checking pattern accuracy and quality throughout the process
• Assessing garment quality and fit once produced
• Advising on alternative construction methods or pattern engineering to achieve optimal fit
• Collaborating with internal teams to develop or share block patterns with suppliers
• Maintaining a digital library of patterns and ensuring supplier patterns meet required standards
• Meeting with designers to review and finalise products
• Making necessary adjustments and filing finalised designs

• Strong technical skills with the ability to manage the Pattern making department
• Minimum 35 years of experience in pattern making
• Proficiency in Lectra Modaris and 3D Pattern Making will be a significant advantage
