Position Overview
NCV ROBOTICS LECTURER (PL1) X1 – Contract post for the 2026 academic year based in Durban, Kwa Zulu‑Natal, South Africa.
Contract Details- Contract period: 2026 academic year

- Salary notch: R plus 37% cash in lieu of benefits
- Matric certificate or equivalent
- Minimum NQF Level 6 qualification in Information Technology (Robotics), Robotics engineering or an engineering discipline (Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, Mechatronics) with a robotics specialisation, or possession of a Level 6 engineering qualification plus a Level 5 training in robotics, or a minimum 12 months of relevant work/teaching experience in robotics, or a minimum three‑year teaching qualification with at least 12 months relevant teaching experience in FET or higher.
- Advanced Teaching Diploma in TVET / Post‑Graduate Diploma TVET / Diploma in Secondary or Higher Education; valid SACE registration (non‑provisional).
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
- Passion for teaching and learning
- Good record‑keeping and administrative skills
- Strong communication, listening, collaboration, adaptability, empathy, patience, and problem‑solving skills.
- Deliver teaching and learning using Raspberry Pi, Arduino, coding in Python and C++, designing robotics circuits with Frizing, and using simulator apps such as Wokwi and NCV Mathematics L2‑L4.
- Organise relevant curricular activities to ensure subjects and learning areas are conducted properly.
- Assess, record, analyze, and report student attainment.
- Manage student attendance, equipment and resources.
- Organise experiential training for students and perform any other duties delegated or prescribed by legislation, policies, manuals, and guidelines.
- Evaluate student progress and maintain attendance and performance records.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to teaching and learning.
- Provide feedback to students regarding performance and progress.
- Liaise with Senior Lecturers, Head of Division, and Student Support Services to support student interventions.
- Carry out invigilation duties.
- Upload and manage LMS subject‑related portal.
