Thekwini TVET College invites suitably qualified and experienced Lecturers to apply for the following contract post available for the 2026 academic year based in Durban.
Contract Details- Contract period: 2026 Academic Year
- Campus:
Melbourne - Reference no: MEL 05/11/2025
- Salary: R PA, plus 37% cash in lieu of benefits.
- Matric certificate or equivalent.
- Relevant Equivalent Qualification (REQV 13) in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- A Renewable energy trade Certificate or minimum NQF Level 5 Qualification in Renewable energy or minimum 3 years relevant experience.
- Advanced Teaching Diploma in TVT / Post Graduate Diploma TVET / Diploma in Secondary or Higher Education.
- Valid SACE registration (not provisional).
- Computer literacy (MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet).
- Sound subject knowledge and work‑related applications.
- Good communication skills (written & verbal).
- Report writing skills.
- Good planning and organising skills.
- Teach both theory and practicals in Occupational Certificate – Solar Photovoltaic energy programmes.
- Lecturing National Certificate Vocational (NCV) and NATED subjects and tasks to be done practically; prepare and submit for accreditation of relevant Occupational programmes.
- Prepare quality assessment and continuous analysis of student performance.
- Perform all post‑related duties as prescribed by applicable policies, legislation, procedure manual, guidelines and instructions; liaise with Senior Lecturers, Head of Division and Student Support Services officials to provide support interventions to students.
- Invigilation duties.
- Attend to uploading and management of LMS subject‑related portal.
