Key Roles and Responsibilities

Lecture and assess contact learning students in the Higher Certificate – Preschool Education and in the Bachelor of Education - Foundation Phase Programmes in the following modules.

  • Creative Arts 1
  • Creative Arts 2
  • Creative Arts 3
  • Teaching Creative Arts
  • Arts Education 1:
    Visual
  • Arts Education 2:
    Music and Movement
  • Introduction to Research

Compile teaching, learning, and assessment materials. Use a learning management system independently and / or work collaboratively to develop and deliver modules. Provide academic support to students. Complete all Quality Assurance requirements related to the modules and programmes. Ensure prompt and effective communication with students, colleagues, line managers, and other members of management. Ensure administrative efficiency, effectiveness and compliance with all policies and SOPs.

Participate in and attend meetings and workshops. Contribute to programme development, scholarship, and teaching excellence. Engage in professional development, community engagement, and institutional support. Provide Distance Learning tutoring support to students enrolled in Creative Arts modules. Fulfil all reasonably expected administrative functions relating to the position and as requested by the relevant line manager.

Qualification and

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Honours in English and Bachelor of Education or equivalent qualification with relevant study in Creative Arts (Visual Arts and Music and Movement). At least 3 years of teaching and / or lecturing experience in the relevant phase / discipline. Knowledge and understanding of subject matter. Experience in curriculum and materials development. Experience in online teaching and learning environments will be an advantage.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.
  • High level of computer proficiency with good knowledge of modern Information Technology infrastructure and online learning platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to cope with change.
  • Willingness to work when required on Saturdays.
