Senior Manager:
Curriculum Development and Management
CORE FUNCTIONS INCLUDE
Academic Governance and Management
- Provide leadership, guidance and oversight to the Curriculum Development and Management Directorate to ensure adherence to the Quality Assurance Framework (QAF) and Institutional Audits Framework (IAF)
- Conduct gap analyses in context of the QAF and Institution Audit Framework as pertains to the Curriculum Development and Management Directorate
- Ensure that successful curriculum reviews are conducted and the implementation of improvement plans are closely monitored to completion
- Advance the Curriculum Development and Management Directorates mandate in the Digital Quality Management System (DQMS)
- Conduct institutional research to collect, analyse, and report on data and benchmark against regulatory standards and industry best practices to inform Curriculum Development and Management
- Review and amend all policies, Terms of reference and standard operating procedure related to the Curriculum Development and Management Directorate to align to QAF and IAF
Research and Curriculum Transformation
- Use AI tools and technologies to support curriculum development and management initiatives, ensuring the ethical, responsible, and high‑quality use of AI to enhance efficiency, innovation, and academic excellence.
- Integrate curriculum transformation principles across all curriculum development and management initiatives, with a strong focus on inclusivity, decolonisation, diversity, accessibility, and student‑centred learning.
- Lead research‑informed curriculum review, renewal, and innovation, ensuring alignment with national policies, NQF level descriptors, industry needs, and global best practice.
- Drive evidence‑based decision‑making by analysing trends in higher education, emerging pedagogical practices, labour market data, and sector skills plans to inform programme and module design.
- Promote transformative teaching and learning approaches, embedding flexible, future‑focused, and socially responsive strategies into the curriculum.
- Champion scholarly engagement and continuous improvement, fostering a culture of research‑led curriculum transformation within the department.
- Leverage and maintain the Curriculum Development and Management System (CDMS) to ensure the accurate creation, storage, version control, and tracking of all curriculum documents, promoting efficiency and compliance across the curriculum lifecycle
Programme and Professional Body Accreditation
- Manage the development of programmes and curriculum in line with the Institutions’ strategic vision and quality assure the curricula of qualifications developed for accreditation to ensure that programme accreditation criteria meet all Higher Education Qualifications Sub‑Framework (HEQSF) requirements
- Prepare and report on the budgets for all aspects curriculum development and management
- Provide leadership in submissions to professional bodies for registration/recognition/accreditation
- Build excellent relations with all internal and external academics, industry experts and service providers in order to ensure a smooth working relationship as well as intervene in any matters providing the best workable solutions between the various service providers to ensure that all curriculum are quality managed

- Responsibility for ensuring the management of all existing programmes and modules to ensure student success
