Montessori Teacher - Preschool Program

About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Montessori Teacher to lead their preschool program in Durban . You will be instrumental in creating and managing a prepared Montessori environment that supports the natural development of children aged 3-6. This role requires a deep understanding of the Montessori philosophy and the ability to guide children through self-directed activities and exploration. You will foster independence, concentration, and a love for learning within your classroom, working collaboratively with other staff members and engaging actively with parents to support the child's journey.

• Implement the Montessori curriculum, providing individualized instruction and guidance to each child.
• Prepare and maintain the Montessori classroom environment, ensuring it is orderly, aesthetically pleasing, and accessible.
• Observe children's progress, document developmental milestones, and communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's learning journey.
• Foster independence, self-discipline, and concentration through the use of Montessori materials.
• Conduct parent-teacher conferences and workshops to share insights on the Montessori approach.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive educational experience across the school.

• Certified Montessori Teacher (e.g., AMI, MACTE, or equivalent).
• A minimum of 3 years of experience teaching in a Montessori preschool setting.
• Extensive knowledge of child development from birth to six years.
• Excellent observation skills and the ability to adapt lessons to individual needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective parent and colleague interaction.
