About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and energetic Preschool Teacher Assistant to support lead teachers in delivering high-quality early childhood education in Durban. This hybrid role involves both on-site classroom support and potential for remote administrative tasks or curriculum preparation. This position is ideal for an individual passionate about early learning, eager to gain experience in a reputable educational setting, and capable of contributing to a positive and dynamic classroom atmosphere, bridging the gap between traditional and flexible work models.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist lead teachers in planning and implementing daily lesson plans and classroom activities.
  • Supervise children during classroom activities, free play, and outdoor time, ensuring their safety and engagement.
  • Support children's individual learning needs, providing one-on-one assistance as required.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
  • Assist with meal times, naptimes, and transitions throughout the day.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant early childhood education coursework is a plus.
  • Previous experience working with young children, ideally in a preschool or daycare setting.
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine desire to work with children.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfort and ability to utilize digital tools for communication and administrative tasks related to the hybrid nature of the role.
Benefits
  • Competitive monthly salary.
  • Gain valuable experience in early childhood education.
  • Supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • Opportunities for professional development and training.
  • Hybrid work model offering a balance between on-site engagement and remote flexibility.
