About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Solar PV Installation Technician to join their expanding remote team, contributing to projects across various locations, with a primary focus on operations based out of Durban . You will be responsible for the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of photovoltaic (PV) solar systems for residential and commercial clients. This role demands hands-on expertise, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to upholding high standards of quality and customer service.
As part of a remote-first initiative, you'll leverage technology to collaborate and manage your workflow effectively, ensuring seamless project delivery and contributing to the growth of clean energy solutions.
- Install, test, and commission solar PV panels, inverters, and associated electrical equipment according to design specifications and safety standards.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting of existing solar energy systems.
- Diagnose and repair faults, ensuring optimal system performance and client satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain system operation and address any concerns.
- Proven experience as a Solar PV Installation Technician or similar role.
- Strong understanding of electrical principles and solar PV system components.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools relevant to electrical and installation work.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required for site assessments and installations.
