Position: Health, Safety and Environmental Engineer – Packaging – R400k – R300k

Overview

Hire Resolve’s client in the Package Manufacturing industry is urgently seeking the expertise of an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Engineer to join their team in Kwa Zulu-Natal.

Responsibilities

Oversee the Health and Safety portfolio in the Engineering space.

Develop and review H&S rules/ policies/ procedures.

Facilitate H&S quarterly meetings.

Conduct H&S audits.

Arrange annual medicals for all employees.

Initiate evacuation drills.

Ensure H&S files/ reports are up to date.

Involvement in engineering projects and continuous improvement engineering.

Research and propose sustainability initiatives.

Propose and implement engineering projects that drive sustainability.

Monitor for any possible system deficiencies or areas of difficulty.

There is a lot of admin in this role, so the candidate must not mind this.

This would be a good role for a young engineer who aspires to be in an engineering/ operations manager, where H&S will be useful

Requirements

Minimum of BTech or BSc Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Minimum of 2 years work experience (we are wanting a junior, graduate level type person- not with too much experience- ideally younger than 27 years old)

Benefits

Salary: R400k/yr – R300k/yr, salary negotiable
