SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Engineering Director with a strong background in mechanical engineering and heavy machinery. The successful candidate will provide technical and operational leadership, oversee complex engineering projects, and ensure delivery in line with strict quality, safety, and performance standards. This role requires a technically strong leader who can guide engineering teams, optimise processes, and drive the execution of large-scale projects in demanding industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategies to accelerate project execution and enhance operational efficiency across engineering operations
- Define clear project and business objectives, aligning resources and teams to meet aggressive delivery timelines
- Oversee facilities, plant, and critical operational assets to ensure reliability and optimal performance
- Lead multidisciplinary project management and technical engineering teams to deliver large-scale, high-value mechanical and industrial projects
- Manage tendering processes and ensure technical, commercial, and compliance standards are met
- Control project budgets, monitor forecast versus actual costs, and identify cost optimisation and performance improvement opportunities
- Engage with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure scope alignment and timely project progress reporting
- Ensure strict adherence to SHEQ requirements while driving delivery in high-pressure, deadline-driven environments
- 8–10 years’ senior-level experience within a large-scale mechanical contracting or heavy industrial environment
- Demonstrated track record of delivering high-value mechanical projects within tight and demanding timelines
- Strong commercial acumen with proven experience in tendering, contract negotiations, and commercial decision-making
- Highly developed leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder influencing skills
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure while managing multiple complex and fast-paced projects
- Exceptional executive-level communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
- Degree/BTech in Mechanical engineering
- Professional Registration is advantageous
- Valid, unendorsed driver’s license
