Our esteemed client is a leading independent service provider for renewable energy power plants in South Africa and Namibia, with a growing presence across the African continent. The company specializes in the operation, maintenance, and optimization of wind, solar, battery energy storage, and hydro facilities, ensuring reliable and sustainable energy generation.

We are seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented Environmental Officer to join our team in Francistown
. This role is ideal for a motivated individual passionate about environmental compliance, sustainability, and operational excellence, particularly within industrial or power plant environments.

Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure full compliance with environmental legislation, regulations, and company policies.
  • Conduct environmental inspections, audits, and risk assessments on site.
  • Monitor waste management, pollution control, and overall environmental performance.
  • Prepare accurate environmental reports and maintain compliance documentation.
  • Liaise with supervisors, contractors, and relevant stakeholders on environmental matters.
  • Support the implementation of environmental procedures, permits, and management systems.
  • Deliver environmental training and awareness sessions to site personnel.
  • Investigate environmental incidents and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Respond effectively to environmental emergencies.
  • Promote and support sustainability and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills Requirements
  • SAMTRAC Environmental Management (or equivalent qualification).
  • Proven experience in an environmental role, experience on power plant or industrial sites highly advantageous.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong understanding of environmental legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A hands‑on, solutions‑driven individual.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Passion for environmental sustainability and safety.
