Civil Engineer – Water & Wastewater Infrastructure

POSITION: CIVIL ENGINEER (WATER & WASTEWATER INFRASTRUCTURE)

Ikhuba Holdings (PTY) LTD intends to appoint a Civil Engineer to support delivery of Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Projects, including conveyance, treatment and distribution systems. The role is suited for a Civil Engineer with experience in Municipal Infrastructure, someone agile with Integrity and strong work ethic.

• BEng, BSc Eng, BTech or BEng Tech in Civil Engineering with 5 to 8 years’ relevant experience in Water and Wastewater Projects.
• Experience in consulting engineering with experience in Municipal water, wastewater, bulk services or treatment works projects.
• Must be an ECSA candidate. Professional registration with ECSA will be advantageous.
• Valid Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel to project Sites when required.

• Good understanding of civil engineering design principles and knowledge of Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Systems.
• Experience with pipelines, gravity sewers, rising mains, pump stations, reservoirs and treatment works and associated civil infrastructure.
• Ability to prepare clear technical reports, specifications and BOQs.
• Practical Construction and Site experience.
• Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with senior review.
• Proficiency in MS project, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Civil Designer, other modelling applications.
• Knowledge of GCC, NEC or FIDIC forms of Contracts.

• Design, documentation, coordination and Site support for Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Projects from planning, concept design, up to detailed design, tender documentation, construction monitoring and project close-out.
• Design of pipelines, sewer networks, mains, reservoirs, pump stations, chambers, manholes, treatment plant and associated civil works.
• Prepare design calculations, technical reports, drawings, schedules, specifications and Bills of Quantities.
• Conduct feasibility studies, condition assessments, capacity assessments and infrastructure upgrade planning.
• Undertake contract administration, Site inspections and construction monitoring.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including process, mechanical, electrical, structural, geotechnical and environmental disciplines.
