This Smart Grid Systems Engineer role is part of Enel Green Power’s initiative to modernize South Africa’s energy infrastructure. The position involves designing, implementing, and optimizing smart grid solutions that integrate renewable energy sources with traditional power networks. Candidates will work on next-generation energy distribution systems that enhance grid reliability and reduce carbon footprints.

• Design and implement smart grid technologies for energy distribution networks
• Conduct feasibility studies for renewable energy integration projects
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on grid modernization initiatives
• Monitor and optimize grid performance using advanced analytics tools
• Ensure compliance with national and international energy standards

• Expertise in smart grid architecture and energy management systems
• Proficiency in SCADA systems and grid simulation software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and project management skills
• Knowledge of South African energy regulations and sustainability frameworks

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

Postgraduate qualification in Smart Grid Technologies preferred

3-5 years of experience in grid systems engineering

Proven track record in renewable energy project implementation

50,000 – 70,000 SSP/annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
