Graduate Technologist

SMEC South Africa is seeking a Graduate Engineer to join their Management Services team in Durban. The role is aimed at UNEMPLOYED graduates and involves providing technical input on projects and assisting Engineers, Scientists, Other Professionals, and Consultants. Key responsibilities include making good decisions, drafting technical reports, presenting technical work, completing tasks on time and cost, understanding local business technologies and markets, assessing project risks, communicating effectively with colleagues, contractors, sub-contractors, and clients, monitoring field work status, managing small projects, training junior staff in relevant software tools, maintaining regular client contact, resourcing work, inspecting works and test results, ensuring contractor compliance, bringing design specs to the attention of relevant personnel, applying General Conditions of Contract clauses, measuring works, and attending technical and site meetings with the client's Project Manager.

The candidate will also be responsible for assessing risks, communicating effectively with colleagues, contractors, sub-contractors, and clients, and ensuring the contractor follows specifications.
