About the Role

Our client is actively searching for a dedicated Industrial Engineer with a specialization in process improvement to join their thriving facility in Durban . In this hands-on role, you will be instrumental in analyzing, redesigning, and implementing more efficient workflows and production methodologies. Your expertise will be critical in reducing operational costs, enhancing product quality, and improving overall throughput. You will work closely with production teams to integrate new processes and ensure smooth transitions, contributing directly to the company's competitive edge in the market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze existing production processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
  • Design and implement new process flows, layouts, and standard operating procedures using lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Develop and manage projects focused on cost reduction, waste minimization, and productivity enhancement.
  • Conduct time and motion studies, ergonomic assessments, and capacity planning analyses.
  • Train production staff on new procedures and best practices to ensure effective adoption.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of implemented improvements, making adjustments as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 3-5 years of practical experience as an Industrial Engineer, focusing on process optimization.
  • Solid understanding and application of lean principles, Kaizen events, and value stream mapping.
  • Experience with data collection and statistical analysis for process evaluation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, and familiarity with process simulation tools.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
