About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and skilled Mine Surveyor to join their operations based in Durban. This hybrid role requires a combination of on-site fieldwork and office-based data processing. You will be responsible for accurately measuring and mapping mine sites, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing essential spatial data for operational planning and execution. This is a crucial role that directly impacts the safety, efficiency, and economic viability of mining activities, offering a chance to work with advanced surveying technologies within a supportive team environment in the vibrant province of Kwa Zulu-Natal.

• Conduct precise surveys of open-pit and underground mining areas using total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
• Establish and maintain survey control networks and benchmarks.
• Produce accurate mine plans, cross-sections, and volumetric calculations.
• Monitor mine development and compliance with design specifications.
• Process survey data using specialized software and prepare reports for management.
• Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to surveying practices.

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor .
• Proficiency with surveying equipment and relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Surpac, Mine Plan).
• Strong understanding of mining surveying principles and South African mining regulations.
• Ability to work effectively both in the field under various conditions and in an office setting.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to different mine sites.
