About the Role
Our client is looking for an innovative and experienced Aerospace Engineer specializing in Structures to join their team in Durban . This role focuses on the design, analysis, and testing of aircraft structural components to ensure maximum strength, durability, and safety. You will be involved in the entire lifecycle of structural development, from conceptual design to final validation, utilizing advanced simulation tools and methodologies.
This is a vital position within a forward-thinking aerospace company, contributing to the development of next-generation aircraft, and driving advancements in structural integrity within the Kwa Zulu-Natal aerospace landscape .
- Design and analyze aircraft structural components using CAD/CAE software (e.g., CATIA, ANSYS, NASTRAN).
- Perform stress analysis, fatigue analysis, and fracture mechanics calculations to ensure structural integrity.
- Develop and execute test plans for structural components, analyzing results to validate designs.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and assembly teams to ensure successful implementation of structural designs.
- Investigate structural failures or anomalies and recommend corrective actions and design improvements.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in materials science, structural analysis techniques, and aerospace technology .
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering , Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in the structural design and analysis of aircraft or spacecraft.
- Proficiency with finite element analysis (FEA) software and composite materials.
- Strong understanding of material properties, failure modes, and structural testing methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous approach to engineering challenges.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment in Durban .
