Our client, a prominent player in the Durban aviation maintenance sector, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Aircraft Structures Technician . This role is pivotal in ensuring the structural integrity of aircraft through expert inspection, repair, and fabrication of airframe components. You will lead by example, providing guidance to junior technicians and upholding the highest standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough inspections of aircraft structures for damage, corrosion, and fatigue.
- Perform repairs and modifications to airframes using approved methods and materials, adhering to structural repair manuals.
- Fabricate and fit structural components, including sheet metal, composite materials, and bonded structures.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation for structural repairs.
- Supervise and mentor junior technicians, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of all structural maintenance activities performed.
- Trade qualification as an Aircraft Structural Repairer or equivalent.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in aircraft structural maintenance.
- Demonstrated expertise in sheet metal work, composite repair, and bonding techniques.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting aircraft structural repair manuals and blueprints.
- Strong understanding of aviation safety regulations and best practices.
- Leadership qualities and the ability to guide and train other team members.
