Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their established team in Durban . This role focuses on the detailed design and specification of electrical systems for industrial and commercial applications. You will be responsible for producing high-quality design documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, and providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate is meticulous, possesses strong technical acumen, and thrives in a collaborative project environment within Kwa Zulu-Natal's key economic center.

• Develop detailed electrical designs, schematics, and specifications for various projects.
• Perform load calculations, circuit design, and ensure compliance with electrical codes and standards.
• Select appropriate electrical equipment and components, preparing bills of materials.
• Conduct site surveys and provide technical assistance during the construction and commissioning phases.
• Review designs and documentation prepared by other engineers and technicians.
• Contribute to project planning, cost estimation, and tendering processes.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5-10 years of experience in electrical design engineering, preferably in industrial sectors.
• Proficiency in using electrical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or similar.
• Strong understanding of power distribution systems , low and medium voltage applications.
• Knowledge of relevant South African electrical regulations and standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
