Our client is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Structural Engineer to join their thriving practice in Durban . This role focuses on the structural design and analysis of a variety of commercial and mixed-use developments. You will work within a collaborative design team, contributing to the structural integrity and innovative architectural solutions for significant building projects across Kwa Zulu-Natal. The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering safe, efficient, and aesthetically pleasing structural designs, and will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment that encourages professional growth and technical mastery in the heart of Durban 's evolving urban landscape.
Key Responsibilities- Perform structural analysis and design for buildings using steel, concrete, and other materials.
- Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Collaborate with architects, mechanical, and electrical engineers to ensure integrated design solutions.
- Review and approve shop drawings submitted by contractors.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations.
- Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Professional registration with ECSA (Pr.Eng or Candidate).
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in structural engineering design for buildings.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAP
2000, or Revit Structure. - Strong understanding of material properties, construction methods, and relevant building codes.
