Field Maintenance Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Field Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Durban , contributing significantly to the operational excellence of their client's infrastructure. This role requires a hands-on approach to diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining complex industrial equipment. You will be instrumental in ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency for our clients, working closely with site managers and operations teams.

The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, exceptional troubleshooting skills, and a proactive mindset towards identifying and resolving potential issues before they impact operations. This is a pivotal position for an experienced engineer looking to make a tangible impact within the Installation & Maintenance industry in the Kwa Zulu-Natal region.

• Conduct comprehensive on-site inspections and performance analyses of industrial machinery and systems.
• Perform complex repairs and overhauls on mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to optimize equipment lifespan and reduce unexpected failures.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify the root cause of malfunctions.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to propose and implement system upgrades or modifications.
• Provide expert technical guidance and support to on-site personnel and junior technicians.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a field engineering or maintenance role, preferably in Installation & Maintenance .
• In-depth knowledge of industrial machinery, control systems, and safety standards.
• Proven ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and schematics.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a strong emphasis on practical application.
• Willingness to travel and work on-site across various locations in and around Durban .
