Telecommunications Field Engineer

Our client is looking for a proactive and adaptable Telecommunications Field Engineer to undertake critical assignments across various locations, primarily focusing on the Durban area. This role demands a skilled professional capable of installing, commissioning, and maintaining a range of telecommunications equipment, ensuring seamless service delivery for clients. You will be at the forefront of deploying and supporting advanced network solutions, working independently and collaboratively to meet project deadlines and service level agreements.

• Install, configure, and test telecommunications hardware and software at client sites.
• Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and repairs on network infrastructure, including base stations and transmission equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot network and equipment failures, providing timely resolution to minimize service disruption.
• Interpret technical specifications and project plans to ensure accurate and efficient installations.
• Provide on-site technical support and training to clients as required.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and company procedures while working in the field.

• Proven experience as a Field Engineer or similar role in the telecoms sector.
• Strong knowledge of wireless communication technologies (e.g., LTE, 5G, Microwave).
• Familiarity with network installation, testing, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively to meet project schedules.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-focused attitude.
• Willingness to travel as required to various project sites within and around Durban .
