Lead Subsea Production Systems Engineer

Our client, a globally recognized leader in offshore oil and gas solutions, is seeking an accomplished Lead Subsea Production Systems Engineer to join their esteemed engineering department in Durban, Kwa Zulu-Natal . This critical role will oversee the design, development, and implementation of complex subsea production systems for major offshore projects. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in subsea hardware, flow assurance, and project lifecycle management.

You will be instrumental in ensuring the integrity, reliability, and efficiency of subsea operations, contributing directly to the success of high-value energy infrastructure. Lead the conceptual design, FEED, and detailed engineering of subsea production systems, including wellheads, trees, manifolds, pipelines, and control systems. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and client specifications throughout the project lifecycle. Manage and mentor a team of subsea engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Perform and review complex flow assurance studies, including hydrate formation, wax deposition, and erosion analysis.

Develop and execute testing and commissioning plans for subsea equipment and systems. Liaise with fabrication yards, installation contractors, and clients to ensure seamless project execution. Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for subsea operations. Contribute to tendering activities and proposal development for new subsea projects. Champion innovation and the adoption of new technologies to enhance subsea system performance and cost-effectiveness.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field;
  Master's degree is a plus.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in subsea production systems engineering, with significant leadership experience.
• In-depth knowledge of subsea hardware, including design principles, materials, manufacturing, and testing.
• Proven experience in flow assurance analysis and the use of relevant software tools.
• Strong understanding of project management principles and the offshore oil and gas project lifecycle.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with HAZID, HAZOP, and other risk assessment methodologies.
• Familiarity with offshore installation practices and challenges.
• Willingness to travel internationally as required for project needs.
