About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and imaginative 3D Modeler to join their innovative game development studio in Durban . You will be responsible for creating high-quality 3D assets, characters, and environments that bring virtual worlds to life. This role requires a strong understanding of game art pipelines, optimization techniques, and artistic anatomy. You will collaborate closely with game designers, animators, and texture artists to ensure artistic vision and technical requirements are met, contributing to the creation of immersive and visually stunning gaming experiences.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate 3D artist to contribute to exciting projects within a collaborative and creative setting.
- Model, sculpt, and UV unwrap 3D assets for real-time rendering in game engines.
- Create detailed and optimized 3D characters, props, and environments according to concept art and technical specifications.
- Work with the art director and team leads to maintain visual consistency and quality across all assets.
- Develop efficient workflows for asset creation, including retopology and LOD generation.
- Collaborate with texture artists to ensure seamless integration of models and materials.
- Stay current with industry trends in 3D modeling, game art techniques, and relevant software.
- Proven experience as a 3D Modeler in the game development industry, with a strong portfolio.
- Expertise in 3D modeling software such as Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, or ZBrush.
- Proficiency in creating optimized game-ready assets for engines like Unity or Unreal Engine.
- Solid understanding of P workflows and material creation.
- Excellent artistic eye and attention to detail regarding form, proportion, and texture.
- Ability to interpret concept art and technical briefs accurately.
