Senior Animator; 3D Character

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Animator (3D Character) to join their innovative animation studio in Durban . In this role, you will be responsible for bringing 3D characters to life with compelling motion and believable performances across feature films and high-end game projects. You will work closely with the animation director and technical team to ensure artistic quality and adherence to project pipelines.

• Create high-quality character animation, focusing on believable movement, emotion, and performance.
• Collaborate with the art and rigging departments to ensure character models are animation-ready.
• Implement and refine animation using industry-standard software.
• Provide feedback and guidance to junior animators, fostering skill development and team cohesion.
• Troubleshoot technical animation issues and contribute to pipeline improvements.
• Ensure animation meets the artistic direction and technical requirements of the project.

• A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in 3D Character Animation .
• Proven portfolio showcasing strong character animation skills, including acting, weight, and timing.
• Proficiency in industry-standard animation software such as Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max.
• Understanding of character rigging, facial animation, and body mechanics.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively.
