Event Coordinator, Entertainment & Gaming

Our client is seeking a creative and organized Event Coordinator to join their team in Durban . You will be responsible for the planning, execution, and post-event analysis of a wide range of events, from corporate functions to social gatherings. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent vendor management skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in creating memorable and successful events that align with the company's vision and objectives, contributing to a vibrant local event scene.

• Manage all aspects of event planning and execution, including budgeting, vendor selection, logistics, and on-site management.
• Liaise with clients to understand their event requirements and ensure their vision is brought to life.
• Source and negotiate with suppliers, including caterers, venues, decorators, and AV technicians.
• Develop event timelines and ensure all deadlines are met, coordinating with internal teams and external partners.
• Oversee event setup, operation, and teardown, ensuring a smooth and seamless experience for all attendees.
• Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement in future events.

• Proven experience as an Event Coordinator or in a similar event management role.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with a knack for building strong vendor relationships.
• Proficiency in event planning software and tools.
• A degree or certification in Hospitality Management, Marketing, or a related field is advantageous.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules in Durban .
