Accountant, Financial Reporting, Accounting & Finance

Malander is seeking an experienced Accountant for an exciting opportunity based in Durban
. The ideal candidate must be immediately available and ready to take ownership of the full finance function. This role requires a hands‑on professional with strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced environment.

• Manage the full finance function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger.
• Prepare and process month‑end and year‑end journals.
• Perform bank, balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting schedules.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Prepare VAT submissions and ensure tax compliance.
• Support annual audits and liaise with external auditors.
• Maintain and improve internal financial controls and processes.
• Monitor cash flow and assist with working capital management.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.

• BCom Degree in Accounting or Finance (essential).
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in an accounting role.
• Proven experience managing the full finance function.
• Immediate availability (non‑negotiable).
• Strong understanding of IFRS and local tax regulations.
• Experience working on ERP/accounting systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement ability.
