Effective and efficient management of the company’s financial reporting processes and the company’s actual financial performance. Overall responsibilities include supervision, direction and training of support staff within the finance function (such as Creditors, Debtors, Cash, Stock, Fixed Assets, Payroll and junior/advanced Bookkeepers); preparation of budgets; monitoring and implementation of financial controls, including monthly reconciliations to ensure all accounting transactions are processed;
internal and external reporting (such as monthly management accounts and annual financial statements), including commentary on results and analysis thereof; tax management, including reconciliation of VAT and income tax including deferred tax. Ensure compliance with all group policies and procedures and strict adherence to internal controls.

Responsibilities- Lead and support the finance function, including supervision, direction and training of staff (Credtors, Debtors, Cash, Stock, Fixed Assets, Payroll and junior/advanced Bookkeepers); ensure timely, accurate financial reporting and commentary on results.
- Prepare budgets and monitor financial controls, including monthly reconciliations and ensuring all accounting transactions are processed.
- Oversee internal and external reporting (monthly management accounts and annual financial statements), with analysis of results and commentary.
- Manage tax, including VAT and income tax reconciliations (including deferred tax) and ensure compliance with group policies and internal controls.
What You’ll Do For The Brand
- Ensure daily, weekly and monthly reporting is accurate, timely and contains content to enable effective decision making; support achievement of company objectives; lead special projects when required; manage and develop direct reports; ensure timely backup of financial records; coordinate internal, external, SARS and other audits; provide support to the Group Financial Manager.
- Prepare annual budgets.
- Prepare/review monthly management accounts with analysis and commentary.
- Prepare/review the annual financial statements.
- Prepare/review monthly working papers and high-risk balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure routine transactions are processed timeously by junior staff.
- Prepare/review non-routine transactions and complex transactions (depreciation, impairments, provisions, finance costs/income, discounting, lease terms, management fees, etc.).
- Review and approve payments; ensure accurate invoice capture and IFRS/tax compliance.
- Review annual tax computations and provisional tax payments; review monthly VAT and payroll returns.
- Manage inter-company balances and reconciliations; ensure timely collections of inter-company balances and debtors.
- Manage working capital; improve supplier and customer terms; plan and monitor cash flow for tax planning.
- Identify control weaknesses and design/implement internal controls; address audit findings in a timely manner.
- Adequate provisioning for impairments on stock, debtors, tangible and intangible assets; reassess useful lives and depreciation methods quarterly.
- Review profit and loss on asset disposals and reconcile general ledger monthly for accurate allocations and tax compliance.
