Job Description:Are you an ambitious legal or compliance professional looking to elevate your career in financial crime prevention? We have an exciting opportunity for an AML & KYC Analyst to join our client's compliance operations in Umhlanga.
In this role, you will be on the front line of financial crime risk management, ensuring the bank’s client portfolio strictly adheres to evolving local and international regulatory frameworks. You will collaborate daily with Branch Managers, Relationship Managers, and Senior Compliance Officers, managing the onboarding and lifecycle review of high-profile, complex accounts.

Responsibilities:- Account Risk Profiling & Monitoring: Review and assess high, medium, and low-risk client accounts against applicable regulatory standards, institutional directives, and statutory policies.
- Workflow Optimization: Manage and coordinate the end-to-end workflow for high-risk account approvals and scheduled high-risk account renewals across national branch networks.
- Customer Due Diligence (CDD & EDD): Compile comprehensive Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reports, verifying supporting documentation for accuracy and regulatory validity.
- Specialized Risk Reviews: Conduct in-depth risk assessments and continuous monitoring of Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) and complex legal structures.
- Periodic Reviews (RE-KYC): Execute ongoing due diligence and RE-KYC reviews on medium- and lower-risk accounts in line with the bank's internal review schedules.

Must-Haves:
- Educational Background: Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree or a recognized tertiary qualification in Law, Risk Management, or Compliance.
- Relevant
Experience:
1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in an AML, KYC, or regulatory compliance role within a commercial banking or financial services environment. - Regulatory Expertise: Strong working knowledge of the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FIC Act), statutory banking directives, and anti-money laundering (AML) best practices in South Africa.
- Analytical Precision: Outstanding attention to detail with proven ability to analyze complex corporate structures and customer identification documentation.
- Communication & Time Management: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, paired with the ability to manage high-volume workflows under defined deadlines.
- Proficiency or prior experience using banking core systems such as HPLUS.
- Additional certifications in AML/CFT compliance (e.g., Compliance Institute Southern Africa or ACAMS)
