ABOUT THIS ROLE

Are you an experienced IT Support Technician with strong infrastructure, networking, and Microsoft 365 experience?

Our client is seeking a skilled Mid-Level IT Support Technician to join their technical support team in Durban North. This role is ideal for a hands‑on IT professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex issues, supporting a diverse client base, and delivering exceptional service both remotely and onsite.

You will work closely with clients and colleagues to ensure IT environments remain secure, efficient, and operational while providing expert technical support and guidance.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Manage and resolve client support requests efficiently and professionally
  • Provide both remote and onsite technical support across multiple client environments
  • Troubleshoot desktop, server, networking, and connectivity issues
  • Support and administer Microsoft 365 environments
  • Configure and maintain networking infrastructure including switches, VPNs, fibre and wireless solutions
  • Assist with firewall administration, security management and troubleshooting
  • Support Windows Server environments and Active Directory administration
  • Assist with telephony and PBX systems where required
  • Keep clients and management informed throughout the support process
  • Share technical knowledge and contribute to team development
  • Recommend improvements to client systems and IT processes
  • Participate in after‑hours support when required
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • 5+ years’ experience in an IT support or technical support role
  • Experience working with IT ticketing and support desk systems
  • Strong Windows desktop support experience (Windows 10 & 11)
  • Advanced Microsoft 365 administration experience
  • Strong networking and connectivity experience
  • Firewall and IT security experience
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
  • Strong customer service and communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Own reliable vehicle
ADVANTAGEOUS
  • Sophos Firewall experience
  • Windows Server 2016+ experience
  • Active Directory administration
  • Ubiquiti and Ruijie networking exposure
  • Experience with 3CX or similar PBX systems
