BI Developer/Data Warehouse Developer at GBS 2026 – Durban

GBS is looking for a BI Developer / Data Warehouse Developer to join its Data Engineering business unit in Durban, Kwa Zulu-Natal. The role is hybrid (on‑site at Umhlanga and remote) and reports to the Data Engineer / Head of Data & Analytics. You will design, build and maintain data warehouse structures, ETL/ELT pipelines and Power BI dashboards for a fast‑paced call‑centre environment.

• Design and maintain data warehouse structures and dimensional models (star/snowflake schemas).
• Develop and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines across multiple systems such as CRM, dialers and telephony platforms.
• Build and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports for key performance indicators.
• Automate reporting processes and improve data workflows for efficiency.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity and performance across on‑premise and cloud environments.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and business stakeholders (Operations, Workforce Management, Finance, IT).

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering or a related field.
• 2–5 years’ experience in BI development or data‑warehouse environments.
• Advanced SQL and experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Fabric / Azure Data Services.
• Strong Power BI dashboarding and reporting skills.
• Experience designing ETL/ELT pipelines and data models (fact and dimension tables).
• Basic Python or scripting knowledge.
• Exposure to call‑centre systems (dialers, CRM, telephony) is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
