The Network Security Architect will lead the design, implementation, and management of secure network infrastructures that protect Vodacom’s critical assets and customer data. This role involves collaborating with cross‑functional teams to develop security strategies, assess risks, and ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 27001 and NIST. The architect will also guide the integration of emerging security technologies, conduct threat modeling, and provide expert advice on secure network architecture.

• Design and implement robust network security architectures for core, access, and data center networks.
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, threat modeling, and vulnerability analyses.
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and best practices aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with network engineers, IT operations, and product teams to integrate security controls into new and existing services.
• Lead incident response activities, providing technical expertise during security events.
• Evaluate and recommend advanced security technologies such as zero‑trust frameworks, micro‑segmentation, and AI‑driven threat detection.
• Prepare detailed security architecture documentation and present findings to senior leadership.
• Mentor junior security staff and promote a culture of security awareness across the organization.

• Deep expertise in network security protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and encryption technologies.
• Proficiency with security architecture frameworks (e.g. SABSA, TOGAF).
• Hands‑on experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure) and hybrid network environments.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on proactive risk mitigation.
• Excellent communication skills for translating complex security concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCNP Security, or CISM are highly desirable.

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or specialized certifications will be considered an advantage.
