Smart Contract Engineer

Our client is looking for a meticulous and skilled Smart Contract Engineer to join their dynamic team in Durban . In this role, you will be responsible for writing, testing, and deploying secure and efficient smart contracts for various blockchain applications. You will work closely with the engineering and product teams to bring innovative decentralized solutions to life, ensuring the integrity and reliability of blockchain-based systems.

• Develop, test, and deploy secure and gas-efficient smart contracts on EVM-compatible blockchains (e.g., Ethereum, Polygon).
• Implement and audit decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols, NFTs, and other blockchain-based applications.
• Ensure the security and integrity of smart contracts through rigorous testing, formal verification, and code audits.
• Collaborate with front-end and back-end developers to integrate smart contracts into user-facing applications.
• Research and implement best practices for smart contract development and security.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of the development process.

• Proven experience in developing and deploying production-ready smart contracts using Solidity.
• Strong understanding of blockchain technologies, including EVM, gas optimization, and common vulnerabilities.
• Familiarity with smart contract development frameworks such as Hardhat, Truffle, or Foundry.
• Experience with testing methodologies for smart contracts and blockchain applications.
• Proficiency in JavaScript or Type Script for testing and scripting.
• Ability to write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code.
