We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Procurement Supervisor to oversee procurement operations, capital expenditure sourcing, and supplier management within a highly regulated environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the timely procurement and delivery of goods and services in accordance with organisational policies, the PFMA
, PPPFA
, and relevant treasury regulations.
This is an exciting opportunity for a procurement professional with strong public sector experience, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a passion for operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the sourcing and procurement of goods and services through RFQ and tender processes in line with procurement policies and business requirements.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods according to specifications and procurement procedures.
- Source and evaluate suppliers while maintaining strong supplier and stakeholder relationships.
- Manage procurement activities related to capital expenditure (CAPEX).
- Approve purchase orders in line with delegated authority.
- Monitor and ensure closure of open purchase orders and system clean-ups in accordance with procedure.
- Compile and submit procurement reports, including supplier performance, overdue purchase orders, pricing, and CAPEX reporting.
- Provide procurement guidance and support to internal stakeholders regarding procurement policies, procedures, and legislative compliance.
- Supervise, train, and develop procurement staff to ensure optimal performance and capability.
- Support procurement operational projects and additional responsibilities as required.
- Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, or Business Administration (
NQF 6). - Minimum 5 years’ procurement experience
. - Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar
. - Strong knowledge of PFMA, PPPFA, BBBEE
, treasury regulations, and public procurement practices. - Experience in RFQ procurement, tender processes, and supplier sourcing
. - Strong reporting, financial, and analytical skills, including advanced MS Excel
. - Previous experience supervising or managing staff.
