Role Purpose
The Junior Head of Department (Supply Chain) supports the coordination and leadership of store logistics activities, including receiving, inventory control, and order management. This is a developmental role designed to build future capability in Supply Chain leadership.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport receiving, storage, and stock movement processes by ensuring goods are handled efficiently and according to procedures.
Ensure compliance with all merchandise handling standards to maintain quality and safety.
Assist in improving logistics flow by identifying inefficiencies and reducing bottlenecks.
Maintain at least 98% compliance with operational standards and 99% system accuracy.
Support accurate and timely order processing and dispatch.
Maintain a minimum of 99% order accuracy.
Assist in reducing delivery-related complaints through effective coordination.
Support efficient returns processing in line with company procedures.
Assist in daily logistics operations, including receiving, inventory, and outbound processes.
Support productivity and efficiency targets across operations.
Ensure 100% compliance with PPE and safety standards.
Contribute to audit compliance standards above 80%.
Assist in onboarding and training of team members.
Support scheduling and workforce coordination.
Participate in performance monitoring and provide feedback.
Promote a safe, disciplined, and productive working environment.
Support stock accuracy and maintain warehouse organisation.
Assist in replenishment and dispatch processes.
Contribute to reducing stock variances and shrinkage.
Grade 12 / Matric (essential)
National Diploma in Supply Chain Management / Logistics / Operations Management or related field (advantageous)
2-4 years' experience in retail, warehouse, or logistics operations
Experience in stock control or inventory management advantageous
Basic supervisory or team coordination experience preferred
Strong attention to detail and willingness to develop leadership capability
