About the Role
Our client seeks a visionary Supply Chain Director to oversee and optimize all aspects of their supply chain operations for the FMCG business unit based in Durban. This senior leadership role is instrumental in ensuring the efficient, cost-effective, and timely flow of goods from procurement through to final delivery. You will be responsible for developing and implementing cutting-edge supply chain strategies, managing complex logistics, fostering strong supplier relationships, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across warehousing, inventory management, and transportation to meet the demands of our rapidly growing market.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a strategic vision for the end-to-end supply chain, focusing on efficiency and cost optimization.
- Manage and optimize inventory levels, warehousing operations, and distribution networks.
- Lead procurement strategies to secure high-quality raw materials and finished goods at competitive prices.
- Oversee transportation and logistics, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery to customers.
- Implement and utilize advanced supply chain technologies and analytics for forecasting and planning.
- Foster strong relationships with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders.
- Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10-15 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with significant leadership roles in the FMCG sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in optimizing global and domestic supply chains.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, WMS, TMS, and ERP systems.
- Proven ability to drive cost savings and efficiency improvements through strategic initiatives.
