Logistics and Supply Chain Director

Our client is seeking a seasoned and strategic Logistics and Supply Chain Director to oversee their extensive operations based in Durban . This pivotal role requires a leader with a deep understanding of global supply chain dynamics, procurement, and distribution. You will be responsible for optimizing the entire supply chain network, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of goods. This position is crucial for maintaining our client's competitive edge through superior logistics management in the bustling port city of Durban .

• Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for supply chain management, logistics, and inventory control.
• Oversee all aspects of inbound and outbound logistics, including transportation, warehousing, and customs compliance.
• Negotiate with suppliers, carriers, and service providers to secure favorable terms and optimize costs.
• Implement and manage advanced supply chain technologies and systems to enhance visibility and efficiency.
• Lead and mentor a team of logistics and supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in logistics and supply chain management , with significant leadership responsibility.
• Proven track record in managing complex supply chains and optimizing distribution networks, preferably in the Kwa Zulu-Natal region.
• Expertise in inventory management, freight forwarding, and warehouse operations.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience managing vendor relationships.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field;
  Master's preferred.
