Print Operator​/Print Specialist

Our client, a leader in the packaging industry is seeking a Print Operator/Print Specialist to join their team based in Durban.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Garde 12
• Minimum 5 years Extensive knowledge in the printing industry that will give the basics on printing set-up
• Flexo experience – very important

MAIN JOB FUNCTIONS

• Help with problem solving and have technical expertise on:
• bag machines (that have printers on them) – Flat Bag and SO Bag machines

Printing machines

• Assist in designing print set-up procedures
• Candidate needs to come forward with practical information for us to formulate procedures and mannuals.

Candidate needs to be able to identify and have knowledge on the following:

• Set up and run printing machines
• Plate mounting
• Changing of reels
• Colour matching
• Tension control (of the paper)
• Print/ink Sequences
• Anilox choices (depending on ink coverage, image, paper etc)
• General Problem solving revolving around printing, inks etc
• Assist in knowledge transfer
• Must have experience on running wide web
• Be able to handle quick changeovers
• Experience in water-based printing on paper advantageous
