ResponsibilitiesJob Overview: Responsible for equipment calibration on shift to determine accurate information, In addition, day to day lab analysis.
Calibration of lab equipment:
Scales, NMR, Auto titrator , FTIR, pH Meter, etcReports equipment deviations to Lab supervisor and trouble shooting
Conduct troubleshooting for out of specification: analytical results, equipmentControl of stock requirements
Weekly stock take and reporting stock level to supervisorResponsible for routine sampling and testing of incoming materials, WIP and finished goods
Incoming Potatoes, oil, seasoning – document results and labelling of stock with release or reject stickersCapturing of results on systemConducts product quality tests and investigate out of specification results and implement corrective actions.
Seasoning, weigh control checks, packet quality assessment, case counts, date code checks during the shiftEnsure all data reports are completed and the results communicated at the end of each shiftOversee hourly process Weaklink results to ensure that plant runs according to standardAttend daily Quality Wall meetings – process and packaging.Ensure adherence to: all procedures and policies, analytical testing methods, ASHA requirementsConducts Line inspections.
ATP swabs, Allergen swabbing including managing and supporting all foreign objects management on the lineHACCP monitoring and filing of records
Check completion of HACCP recordsEnsure that AIB, food safety and quality standards are maintained throughout
Report non-conformances noted during shift line patrolsManage and control all On hold, rejected and released stock.
Place hold/ reject/release stickers on affected stockResponsible for conducting Internal ASHA Lab AuditsSupport during FSSC 22000 and AIB AuditsProvide support during trials, commissioning or new projectsResponsible and accountable for Laboratory specific projectsCoordinate projects related to improving food safety and quality systemsQualificationsDiploma: Food Technology (or equivalent in experience)1-3 Laboratory ExperienceExperience with GCComputer LiteracyWritten & Oral communication“Pepsi Co is an Equal Opportunity Employer in line with the Employment Equity Act"
