About the Role
Our client seeks a highly analytical and innovative Process Engineer to optimize manufacturing operations at their facility in Durban. You will be responsible for analyzing existing production processes, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain superior product quality. This role is integral to driving operational excellence and ensuring the smooth functioning of the plant. The successful candidate will work closely with production teams, quality control, and management to implement data-driven solutions within the vibrant industrial hub of Kwa Zulu-Natal.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for process improvement.
- Design, develop, and implement new or modified manufacturing processes to increase productivity and reduce operational costs.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and technical specifications.
- Conduct feasibility studies and pilot tests for proposed process changes before full-scale implementation.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide technical support to the manufacturing team.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production output, quality, and resource utilization.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Process Engineer in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of process simulation software and statistical process control (SPC).
- Proven ability to optimize complex manufacturing workflows and implement lean manufacturing techniques.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
